Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Raiders vs. Midview Middies

Columbia is on a three-game streak of home losses, Midview a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Columbia Raiders will host the Midview Middies at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Columbia came up short against Vermilion and fell 63-55. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Sailors 15-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Midview also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Clearview by a score of 58-51. While the Middies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Clippers 17-12 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Midview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Luke Jockel posted 22 points along with six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Cody Martin, who had eight points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

Columbia now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Midview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
