Lead-Deadwood put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. They were fully in charge, breezing past Crow Creek 58-6.
Meanwhile, Bennett County found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-28 punch to the gut against Gordon-Rushville. The defeat was a vexing one since Bennett County were expected to win based on their state ranking.
Lead-Deadwood's victory lifted them to 4-1 while Bennett County's loss dropped them down to 1-4. In their victory, Lead-Deadwood relied heavily on junior Jordy Stulken, who rushed for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. Bennett County will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
