Stoneman Douglas was the 3-1 winner over West Broward when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Alyssa James paced Stoneman Douglas' offense, picking up eight kills. James got some help from Mia Horta and her 16 assists. Finally, Ariadna Henriquez kept Stoneman Douglas' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Stoneman Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for West Broward, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Coming up, Stoneman Douglas will be playing in front of their home fans against Pembroke Pines Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Broward, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Chaminade-Madonna on the 30th.
