Baseball Game Preview: St. Francis Red Raiders vs. Aquinas Institute Little Irish

The St. Francis Red Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Aquinas Institute Little Irish at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Francis took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Bishop Timon-St. Jude by a score of 4-1.

St. Francis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Panzarella, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Aquinas Institute got the win against Northstar Christian Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-1. The Little Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

St. Francis' win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-12-1. As for Aquinas Institute, their record is now 10-7.

St. Francis skirted past Aquinas Institute 6-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Will the Red Raiders repeat their success, or do the Little Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
