Gainesville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They blew past Independence 81-60. The Cardinals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Independence lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mason Ogburn, who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. That's the most boards Ogburn has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Brady Kunkle, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 14 points.

Gainesville pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Independence, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Gainesville Cardinals challenge the Unity Reed Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Unity Reed has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three contests. Independence will take on James Madison in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. James Madison will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Independence surely won't give up without a fight.
