Volleyball Recap: Lynbrook Comes Up Short

If Lynbrook was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of MacDonald last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gunn Titans on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost three in a row.

Lynbrook couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 19-25, 28-26.

Miya Tang paced Lynbrook's offense, picking up 14 kills. Tang got some help from Jacey Tseng and her 18 assists. Tseng was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Zara Mayor, who had ten digs and two aces. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had over her last five contests.

Lynbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Gunn, their win bumped their record up to 17-13.

Lynbrook has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Fremont on the 15th. As for Gunn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Santa Clara on the 15th.
