 It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Wray Eagles can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of  47-44. Wray's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
 Wray lost  on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   AB Ruiz, who  dropped  a double-double on 16 points and 12  rebounds. Ruiz hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was  Rafael Trejo, who  scored 13 points along with five  rebounds.
 Wray's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Merino, the  win was  the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.
 Wray is on the road again  on Friday and plays Elbert at 8:00  p.m.  on March 1st. Hopefully Elbert focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 22 last Tuesday. Merino's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evangel Christian Academy at 6:30  p.m.  on March 1st. Evangel Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Merino is ranked 33rd).
