Basketball Recap: Chalmette Takes a Loss

Chalmette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Phoenix Spartans. The Owls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Chalmette's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Phoenix, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-12.

Chalmette has already played their next contest, a 47-40 loss against Salmen on the 4th. As for Phoenix, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-29 defeat against Edna Karr on the 5th.
