Volleyball Recap: Sumter County Comes Up Short

Sumter County lost against Columbus back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Blue Devils. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sumter County may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored six points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-6.

Jaslyn Watts was nothing short of spectacular for Columbus: she had nine digs and six aces. That's the most aces Watts has posted since back in October of 2024.

Sumter County's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Columbus, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season.

Sumter County will square off against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbus, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Jordan on the 16th.
