Basketball Recap: Ben Werner and Jacob Walker Secure Win for Mullen

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wallace, Mullen was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-33 win over the Arthur County Wolves. The Broncos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

Leading Mullen to victory were Jacob Walker and Ben Werner. Walker dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Werner went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points and three steals. Werner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Hardin, who posted six points.

Mullen now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Arthur County, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Mullen will challenge Medicine Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arthur County has already played their next contest (against Brady), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
