Basketball Game Preview: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Fivay Falcons

The Dunnellon Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Fivay Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunnellon is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Dunnellon is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Trinity Catholic on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Dunnellon was beaten by Trinity Catholic 59-21. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Myah Roof was Dunnellon's leading scorer, having posted six points. Adriana Soto held things down on the boards with four rebounds. Tonyah Boggs took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fivay). They breezed by Angeline Academy of Innovation to the tune of 65-8 on Wednesday. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 33 points or more this season.

The victory got Fivay back to even at 7-7. As for Dunnellon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
