Volleyball Game Preview: Socastee Braves vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs

Socastee is 1-9 against North Myrtle Beach since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Braves will face off against the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Socastee came up short against Carolina Forest and fell 3-1.

While Socastee had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, North Myrtle Beach faced Pickens in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Chiefs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Flame.

North Myrtle Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 24-3. As for Socastee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Socastee might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from North Myrtle Beach in their previous matchup on September 11th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Chiefs' Katlyn Powers, who had 13 digs and four aces.
