Basketball Game Preview: Hickory Grove Christian Lions vs. Gaston Day Spartans

Hickory Grove Christian hasn't had much luck against Gaston Day recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Hickory Grove Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

While Hickory Grove Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Carolina Day by a score of 49-41 on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hickory Grove Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Kiser, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Kiser a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Micah Bradley, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gaston Day). They enjoyed a cozy 84-66 win over Carolina Day on Friday.

Hickory Grove Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Gaston Day, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Hickory Grove Christian came up short against Gaston Day in their previous matchup back in January, falling 67-63. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
