Recap: Foothill Cougars vs. Chico Panthers
After flying high against the Red Bluff Spartans last Thursday, The Foothill Cougars came back down to earth. Foothill fell just short of Chico by a score of 24-21. Foothill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chico apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Foothill still got an impressive performance from Christopher Hall, who picked up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown. Hall was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 63 yards.
Dion Coleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chico, rushing for 273 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Coleman is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chico, their victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will take on Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Enterprise is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Chico, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shasta at 7:00 p.m. Shasta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Chico is ranked 139th).
