Baseball Recap: Western Indians vs. Northwest Mohawks
Western was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 28-3 to the Northwest Mohawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mohawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-3 on April 9th.
Tyler Kerns made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases. Noah Steele also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Western's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Northwest, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Western will take on rival South Gallia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Northwest is set to challenge their familiar foe Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
