Fullerton extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 7-2. They had just enough and edged out the Sunny Hills Lancers 35-33. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 14-6 win the Lancers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Leading Fullerton to victory were Caden Wise and Evan Tellez-Soria. Wise gained 49 total yards, while Tellez-Soria rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown. Wise also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making three total tackles.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Fullerton's defensive line and their three sacks. Nathan Vejar refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
As for Sunny Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3. Despite 86 more yards than Fullerton, the Lancers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the loss, Sunny Hills still got an impressive performance from George Shelledy, who rushed for 125 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries, and also threw for 67 yards and one touchdown.
Fullerton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-15 victory against Valencia on the 30th. As for Sunny Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-25 defeat against Kennedy on the 30th.
