Pinnacle is 1-9 against Mountain Ridge since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pioneers will venture away from home to square off against the Mountain Lions at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Pinnacle beats Mountain Ridge with six runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Pioneers won by a run and slipped past Horizon 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.
Alex Korbesmeyer looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Erik Moo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Pinnacle is undefeated when Moo posts one or more home runs, but 6-7-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brayden Bullard, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Ridge). Everything went their way against Valley Vista on Friday as they made off with a 15-3 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Joe Forbes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. EJ Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Mountain Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Mountain Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Pinnacle, their record now sits at 9-7-1.
Pinnacle couldn't quite get it done against Mountain Ridge in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
