Bishop Canevin was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Eden Christian Academy. The win was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on five straight.

Tyler Maddix made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

Maddix wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Maddix, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Bishop Canevin's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eden Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

Bishop Canevin will have a chance to go back-to-back against Eden Christian Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
