Volleyball Recap: Southwest EC's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Southwest EC lost against Central two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 25-19 in the first set.

Southwest EC started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-8, 15-7.

Darius Lindberg paced Southwest EC's offense, picking up 15 kills. Lindberg got some help from Ismael Razo and his 27 assists. Razo also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jesus Trevi?o, racking up two apiece.

Southwest EC's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-19. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Southwest EC will be playing at home against Imperial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Central, they will head out to face off against Calexico at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
