Volleyball Recap: Hebron Hawks vs. Kouts Mustangs & Fillies
Hebron lost to Kouts back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hawks fell just short of the Mustangs & Fillies by a score of 3-2. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Hebron started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 17-25, 25-12, 25-16, 15-11.
Brody Hale paced Hebron's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hale got some help from Antonio Pena and his 32 assists. Hale was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
Kouts can attribute much of their success to Ethan Sandifer, who had 14 digs and two assists. Those 14 digs gave Sandifer a new career-high. Drew Garrett also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Hebron's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Kouts, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5.
Coming up, Hebron will host South Shore Homeschool Athletics at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kouts, they are taking a road trip to take on Michigan City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
