Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Madison on Tuesday, Riverside came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Hickman County Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 last Tuesday.

Kynslee Frost made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Hickman County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will welcome Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hickman County, they will host Culleoka at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
