Basketball Recap: Derryfield Takes a Loss

Derryfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 70-22 loss at the hands of the Belmont Red Raiders. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Derryfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Belmont, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derryfield will head out to face off against Mascoma at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mascoma's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so Derryfield's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Belmont, they will venture away from home to take on Berlin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Belmont's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
