Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Ezekiel Academy's 17th in Last 19 Outings

Ezekiel Academy hadn't done well against Wiregrass recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Ezekiel Academy Knights came out on top against the Wiregrass Kings by a score of 78-66. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Kings are ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ezekiel Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Taylor, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 24 points and seven boards. Kelson Free was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists.

Ezekiel Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiregrass only posted nine assists.

Despite the loss, Wiregrass still got an impressive performance from Brayden Treadaway, who went 12 of 28 en route to 35 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Those 35 points gave Treadaway a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Graysen Ellison, who posted ten points and six steals.

Ezekiel Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Wiregrass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-21.

Ezekiel Academy will square off against Brooklane Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wiregrass does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
