Basketball Game Preview: Champion Golden Flashes vs. Liberty Leopards

The Champion Golden Flashes will square off against the Liberty Leopards at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Champion and 18 for Liberty dating back to last season.

On Thursday, Champion had to suffer through a 66-15 loss at the hands of Crestview. The match marked the Golden Flashes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Liberty was beaten by LaBrae 52-10 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 761st, while the Vikings are ranked 255th).

Champion's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Champion took their victory against Liberty when the teams last played on January 10th by a conclusive 57-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Champion since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
