Heritage Christian suffers third straight loss at home

The Heritage Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 51-28 loss at the hands of Wylie Prep Academy. Heritage Christian has struggled against Wylie Prep Academy recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Wylie Prep Academy had a senior duo take command as Riley Peterson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds and Layton Gerhart dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Peterson has scored at least 25% of Wylie Prep Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Landen Corso, who scored 10 points.

Heritage Christian bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Wylie Prep Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Longview Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 18, 2024. As for Wylie Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Life Preparatory at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
