Softball Recap: Coldwater Cavaliers vs. Southview Cougars

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Minster, Coldwater was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Southview Cougars an 8-0 shutout.

Madison Wendel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Wendel has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 19 consecutive pitching appearances. Wendel was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Claire Steinke was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI. Rachel Schroyer was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base.
