Football Game Preview: Denby Tars vs. Osborn Knights + How To Watch

Denby is a perfect 6-0 against Osborn since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tars will face off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Denby will be strutting in after a victory while Osborn will be coming in after a defeat.

Denby's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cody 42-0. The win continues a trend for the Tars in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won eight in a row.

Denby's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christopher Kendrick led the charge by throwing for 345 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. Those 345 passing yards gave Kendrick a new career-high. Tyree Robinson helped Kendrick out on the ground, rushing for 125 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Denby's defense and their 5.5 sacks. Leading the way was Kenneth Mcclinton with three. He has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last six times he's played.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Osborn's offense. They were dealt a 30-0 loss at the hands of Central on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Trail Blazers: they've now lost five in a row.

Denby now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Osborn, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Denby against Osborn when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 46-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
