Basketball Game Preview: New Trier Trevians vs. Deerfield Warriors

The New Trier Trevians will head out to take on the Deerfield Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Trier will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, New Trier earned a 58-46 win over Glenbrook South. Given the Trevians' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Titans are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Deerfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Glenbrook North on Friday, taking the game 44-31. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

New Trier's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Deerfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

New Trier strolled past Deerfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 61-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Trier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
