Jefferson City has gone 8-1 against Rolla recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Jays will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jefferson City has four straight wins, Rolla has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Jefferson City proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Camdenton. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jays have posted since September 13th.
Jefferson City was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-14, 15-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Jefferson City found their leader in sophomore Ella Showers, who had 24 digs and seven aces. Showers is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Jefferson City was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Rolla didn't have quite enough to beat Owensville last Wednesday and fell 3-2. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dutchmen 25-21 in the first set.
Rolla wouldn't go down easily and took Owensville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13.
Jefferson City's victory bumped their record up to 13-8-1. As for Rolla, they now have a losing record of 8-9-2.
Jefferson City took their win against Rolla in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jays since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
