Baseball Recap: Pueblo South Wins Going Away Against Sierra

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo South). They put the hurt on the Sierra Stallions with a sharp 20-0 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Colts brought their scoring average up to 9 runs per game.

Pueblo South let Caeden Herrera and MJ Molina run wild. Herrera went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Molina went 4-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Herrera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Cordova, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Pueblo South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Pueblo South back to even at 2-2. As for Sierra, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Pueblo South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-7 victory against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 14th. As for Sierra, they will head out on the road to square off against Florence at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Florence knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Sierra likes a good challenge.
