Flag Football Game Preview: Smiths Station Panthers vs. Daphne Trojans + Official Tickets

The Smiths Station Panthers will welcome the Daphne Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Smiths Station is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Paul W. Bryant get on the board and left with a 38-0 win. The Panthers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three matchups.

Meanwhile, Daphne put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Mary G. Montgomery to the tune of 38-8. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama flag football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Vikings are ranked 61st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Smiths Station better keep an eye on Aubrey Gregg. She was instrumental in Daphne's win, throwing for 233 yards and five touchdowns. Abby Johnson was in the mix as well, providing the Trojans with two scores.

One reason for the win was Daphne's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Kaylee Shabel was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three herself.

Daphne's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Smiths Station, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
