Softball Recap: Chiefland Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chiefland can now relate to. They came up short against the Trenton Tigers on Wednesday, falling 16-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chiefland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evie Meeks, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Chiefland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Trenton, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Chiefland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trenton, they will face off against Williston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
