Volleyball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

If Franklin was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mumford on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell 3-1 to the Iola Bulldogs on Friday. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 0-25, 25-0.

Franklin's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Iola, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Thrall on the 9th. As for Iola, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Coldspring-Oakhurst on the 9th.
