Softball Game Preview: West Stanly Colts vs. Forest Hills Yellow Jackets

West Stanly has gone a perfect 10-0 against Forest Hills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The West Stanly Colts will venture away from home to face off against the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

West Stanly will head out to face Forest Hills after giving up their first home loss of the season on Saturday. West Stanly fell 4-1 to North Davidson. The loss was the Colts' first of the season.

Madi Whitley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jenna Brock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Forest Hills' offense. They came up short against Piedmont on Thursday, falling 23-0. The Yellow Jackets have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Stanly fell to 4-1. As for Forest Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went West Stanly's way against Forest Hills in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as West Stanly made off with a 17-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Stanly since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
