Basketball Recap: Baldwin Takes a Loss

Baldwin played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Maui Sabers and fell 47-12. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Maui's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Naiara Bal, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Bal has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Okuyama, who posted four points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Baldwin's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Maui, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baldwin will host Lahainaluna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maui, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kamehameha Maui at 7:00 p.m.
