Soccer Recap: Mullen Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Mullen after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Cherokee Trail Cougars by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mullen of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Ava Dittmar, who's now up to two this season.

Mullen now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Cherokee Trail, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3-2.

Mullen wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Loveland Classical on the 28th. As for Cherokee Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 victory against Lakewood on the 26th.
