Basketball Recap: River Forest Falls Despite Big Games from Rayna Cary and D?Yanna Hurn

River Forest lost against Tri-Township back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The River Forest Ingots fell 38-29 to the Tri-Township Tigers.

River Forest's loss came despite strong showings from D?Yanna Hurn and Rayna Cary. Hurn posted 13 points and six rebounds, while Cary had ten points. That was a full 44.8% of River Forest's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Jayde Pryor was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten boards for Tri-Township. The match was Pryor's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Armentia, who earned two points along with five rebounds and five steals.

River Forest has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Tri-Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

River Forest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-21 win against Boone Grove on the 9th. As for Tri-Township, they will face off against Washington Township at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Gracie Little and Pryor.
