Basketball Recap: Bauxite Takes a Loss

Bauxite played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Dover Pirates, falling 74-38. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Pirates are ranked 30th).

It was another big night for Logan Young, who went 11 for 17 on her way to 29 points and seven boards for Dover. Young is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadee Keaster, who went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points and seven assists.

Bauxite's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Dover, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Bauxite has already played their next contest (against Perryville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dover has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Baptist Prep.
