It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Perry ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the St. John Heralds 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on six straight.

Perry's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for St. John, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will take on Lakeside at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. John, they will host Grand Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Heralds 3.4, the Mustangs 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
