Basketball Recap: Belleview Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Denver Waldorf

Belleview Christian scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Denver Waldorf Spartans by a score of 55-53. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Belleview Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kentrell Beasley, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those 18 points gave Beasley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Polson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver Waldorf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayden Quinn, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 25 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Quinn is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 27 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Henry Lottridge, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Belleview Christian and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Denver Waldorf, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pikes Peak Christian the next time they take the court. Denver Waldorf will head out to face Pikes Peak Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Belleview Christian will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
