St. Croix Central came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 45-39 win over the Somerset Spartans. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Spartans are ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Croix Central pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Somerset, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the St. Croix Central Panthers duke it out with the Prescott Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Somerset, they will head out to take on Baldwin-Woodville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
