The prep legend of Newman (New Orleans, La.) junior quarterback Arch Manning continues to grow after he threw for 295 yards and five touchdowns in a 59-7 victory Friday over visiting Pearl River.

The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and No. 1 junior recruit overall in the country according to 247Sports, completed 25-of-33 passes and also rushed for 38 yards on four carries.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder has now accounted for 14 touchdowns for the 3-0 Greenies, who entered the week No. 20 in Louisiana according to the MaxPreps computer rankings.

Manning now has 871 yards passing and 12 touchdowns this season to bring his career marks to 5,231 and 67. The third-year starter could break the school marks of his uncles this season. Both of them attended Newman as did Arch's father Cooper, a wide receiver.

Peyton holds the family touchdown record with 92 while Eli holds the yardage mark with 7,389 yards. Peyton threw for 7,207 yards and Eli had 89 career touchdown passes.

Arch is hoping to lead the Greenies to their first state title. They lost in the state semifinals last season.

On Friday, Arch threw two touchdown passes each to tight end Will Randle and wide receiver Christopher Hunter in the first half when the Greenies led 42-7.

"(Manning) was on fire," Isidore Newman head coach Nelson Stewart told 247Sports after Friday's game.
