Washington Academy faced Ellsworth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders blew past the Eagles 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Thursday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Washington Academy took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-7, 25-14.

Kellan Schwinn paced Washington Academy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Schwinn got some help from Lily Hennessey and her 26 assists. Schwinn also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Aubrey Faulkingham, each putting up four.

Washington Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Ellsworth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Coincidentally, Washington Academy and Ellsworth will both be playing Brewer the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Witches at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Raiders will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
