The Vanguard School had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They beat the Widefield Gladiators by a goal, winning 2-1. This was payback for The Vanguard School, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jacob Figueroa and Isai Savelkoul scored both of The Vanguard School's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Widefield's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
