Baseball Recap: Aquinas Falcons vs. Beaumont Cougars
Aquinas took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They blew past the Beaumont Cougars 16-1.

Gavin Egan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonathan Tena, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mason Greenhouse, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Aquinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaumont only posted an OBP of .222.
Beaumont's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas will take on El Rancho at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Beaumont, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
