Softball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Cougars vs. Bellaire Cardinals

The Cypress Creek Cougars will head out to face off against the Bellaire Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Jersey Village hit Cypress Creek with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Tullia Lane was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Meanwhile, Bellaire got the win against Lamar on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-1. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Bellaire is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Cypress Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15-1 record this season.

Cypress Creek suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Bellaire when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
