Trinity Christian Academy had won three straight games and Owen Atwood did his part to make it four on Friday. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Jackson Christian Eagles 31-28 with plenty of help from Atwood, who rushed for 87 yards and one TD on only six carries, and also threw for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending two passes.

Despite the loss, Jackson Christian still got an impressive performance from Kingston Robinson, who rushed for 30 yards and two scores. James Dyer was in the mix as well, providing the Eagles with one TD.

Trinity Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Jackson Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Trinity Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-14 win against Fayette Academy on the 10th. As for Jackson Christian, after each having a week off, they and Harding Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
