Softball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton lost against Boone back in June of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals came up short against the Toreadors, falling 14-5. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Boone, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Newton will head out to take on Pleasantville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boone, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against North Polk at 4:30 p.m. The Comets will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Toreadors surely won't give up without a fight.
