Basketball Recap: Jahaziel Catano Key Part of a Team Effort in Mariners Win

Mar Vista won the last time they faced O'Farrell Charter and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mar Vista Mariners walked away with a 68-59 win over the O'Farrell Charter Falcons. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mariners as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mar Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jahaziel Catano, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Krenbeh, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Mar Vista's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for O'Farrell Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Mar Vista will take on San Ysidro at 6:30 p.m. on January 15th. As for O'Farrell Charter, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-43 victory against Hilltop on the 9th.
