Basketball Recap: Justin Vining Key Part of a Team Effort in Predators Win

Fox Creek proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 32) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Newberry Bulldogs, sneaking past 50-47. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-54 back in January.

Fox Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Vining out in front who went 6 of 11 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Baskett, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points.

Fox Creek is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Newberry, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Coincidentally, Fox Creek and Newberry will both be playing Keenan the next time they take the court. Fox Creek will host Keenan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Newberry will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
